PROTECTING YOURSELF USING GLOVES AND HAND HYGIENE

In case of risk of coronavirus infection, the use of disposable protective gloves is recommended. Personal protective equipment should be used correctly and carefully.

Always wear protective gloves on washed and dried hands.

When using protective gloves, avoid touching your face, eyes and mouth.
Also avoid touching your own clothes as germs are transmitted by „dirty hands“ as well as by hands in protective gloves.

Use gloves if necessary in these situations:

  • When taking care of a person showing cold symptoms;
  • When in contact with surfaces that have been touched by many people (e.g. shopping carts, handles, etc.)

Remember to remove the gloves immediately after use and throw them in the waste bin. Wash/disinfect your hands after removing the gloves.

How to remove the gloves properly:

1. Pinch and hold the outside of the glove near the wrist area in such a way that your skin does not come into contact with the contaminated side.
2. Peel downwards, away from the wrist, turning the glove inside out. Pull the glove away until it is removed from the hand.
3. With your ungloved hand slide your ngers under the wrist of the remaining glove. Do not touch the outer surface of the glove.
4. Peel downwards, away from the wrist, turning the glove inside out. (When removing the gloves this way, the „dirty“ side of the gloves remains inside. This ensures that your skin does not come into contact with the contaminated surface of the gloves.)
5. Dispose of the removed gloves immediately in a waste container.
6. If it is possible to wash your hands with soap and water, do so washing your hands at least 20 seconds according to the same rules as for hand disinfection. If not, follow point 8.
7. Dry your hands thoroughly preferably with a disposable paper towel.
8. Then disinfect your hands immediately with an agent containing at least 60% alcohol.
9. Use a palmful of the product.
10. Apply the product on your hands for 30 seconds as follows - see pictures below.
11. Do not wipe your hands. Allow the disinfectant to dry from the surface of your hands.

WARNING: Your hands must always be dry before putting on disposable gloves and before disinfecting your hands with an alcohol-based product.
Wash your hands as often as necessary. Disinfect whenever you cannot wash your hands.
